Вообще касательно прежнего названия Погара (Радогощ)и гипотез о его происхождении логично возникает тема брендинга. И тут в современных условиях наиболее удачным решением в условиях нормального существования Стародубщины в рамках единой европейской семьи, частью которой Русь является по праву (то есть это разговор о будущем), на мой взгляд было бы брендировать город, основываясь на имени персонажа Толкиена — Радагаста Бурого — волшебника и защитника природы. И вот почему:
— Этот образ привлечет более широкий интерес, нежели западнославянский языческий бог Радегаст; — Это легко сочетается с тем фактом, что Погар — и физикогеографическая, и историко-культурная часть Полесья; — Фамилия Бурый так-то у нас исторически довольно распространена; — Это хорошо ложится в популярные экологический и рекреационный тренды, в связи с которыми можно развивать местную экономику и культуру.
