Abrahamic adoption of anime/manga is ironic.
Because the elements in most of these anime are extremely Pagan.
Dragon Ball is a very much Buddhist / Shinto minded story written with Apotheosis in mind, while being based on a Buddhist themed Chinese novel.
I know Christians adopt popular things to subvert them for conversion.
But it doesn't work, Goku is probably as popular as Jesus today.
Also, most of the workings of the world's in these stories are extremely Pagan.
This goes for a majority of anime, even the ones with Christian themes.
There are always other Gods, magic, occult elements, etc, which don't work within the Christians, especially protestantism, ideology, and lack of mysticism or plurality.
When it is represented, Christianity in the East is merged with all Western Paganism and Magic most of the time. The result is usually alchemical or mystical focused concepts. Which is more of a view of faith and spirituality that makes sense to Eastern mindset.

One thing I love about Japan is that book stores and literacy abound.
I can go to a books store, and for relatively cheap, I can get books and magazines on any topic.
History (Asian and European) science, arts, hobbies, occult, politics, conspiracies, skills, you name it. Novels and comics that are for both children and adults. Fantasy and Sci-fi still live.
There are books on religion that cover topics as deep as some Western academics and writers have produced, just begind a language barrier.
Yes, this includes European Pagan myths and Abrahamic along with indepth Shintō, Buddhism, and Taoist books.
Most of these books are informational and not just riddled with political propaganda but rather unbiased concepts (yes, there is propaganda still as there is everywhere on earth).
I'll say that for the West, some parts of Europe I have lived in were similar.
I think the US has lost the love of books outside of low tier female romance. This is mostly due to a semi agenda by corporations, but also due to inflation and digital age ism.
Also, the amount of trash being produced. See any Target.
I would say that those in certain parts of the West, self-publishing is last bastion.

I was talking to a friend about the best English translation of the Bhagavad Gita, and I’m going to suggest Winthrop Sargeant’s.
The problem with many English translations is they’re often heavily sanitized, and any passages that could offend Western sensibilities are either oversimplified or straight up omitted. Oversimplification is another common issue; Sanskrit is an extremely complex language.
Sometimes you’ll find one where you’ll have a few selected verses, followed by several pages of the hippie author telling you how they feel about it, kind of like how modern playgans will cherry-pick a few out-of-context stanzas from the Poetic Edda, and discard the rest as “Christian tainted” in order to create a warped pseudo-religion that validates their existing worldview and beliefs.
But with Winthrop Sargeant’s Gita, every verse is there, with an intensive translation, so you can read it yourself and decide what you think.

The theory that the swastika is based on the movement of the Big Dipper around the North Star is well established, by René Guénon and Gennady Zdanovich, an archaeologist who studied Arkaim.
