А если серьёзно — история гласит, что впервые в Японии ресторан такого типа открылся в 1957 при престижном токийском отеле IMPERIAL HOTEL и назывался этот ресторан Imperial Viking (и отель, и ресторан существуют и поныне). Отсюда и подхватили называть так в Японии сам тип подачи блюд. Но вот самостоятельно в жизни не догадаешься, почему оно переводится так
