Полёт по «Созвездию “Сокольники”» продолжается

Программа поездки в Новомосковск не ограничилась только беседой в библиотеке: теперь несколько экземпляров ежегодного краеведческого сборника Клуба краеведов будут храниться в Центральной городской библиотеке им. А.С.Пушкина и в библиотеке микрорайона Сокольники. А в Москву отправился удивительный сборник стихов Владимира Суворова, жившего в городе Сокольники.

Во время поездки в Новомосковск невозможно было не посетить и Сокольники, которых в Тульской области целых три: деревня, хутор и микрорайон. Кстати, был сделан запас земли из Сокольников новомосковских для коллекции Музея «Созвездие “Сокольники”». А для чего этот запас нужен – об этом будет сообщено на декабрьском заседании Клуба краеведов района Сокольники.

In 2014, Pavel Durov fled the country after allies of the Kremlin took control of the social networking site most know just as VK. Russia's intelligence agency had asked Durov to turn over the data of anti-Kremlin protesters. Durov refused to do so. Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. And Telegram has been attached to a fair few scandals related to terrorism, sexual exploitation and crime. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. Additionally, investors are often instructed to deposit monies into personal bank accounts of individuals who claim to represent a legitimate entity, and/or into an unrelated corporate account. To lend credence and to lure unsuspecting victims, perpetrators usually claim that their entity and/or the investment schemes are approved by financial authorities. This provided opportunity to their linked entities to offload their shares at higher prices and make significant profits at the cost of unsuspecting retail investors. The company maintains that it cannot act against individual or group chats, which are “private amongst their participants,” but it will respond to requests in relation to sticker sets, channels and bots which are publicly available. During the invasion of Ukraine, Pavel Durov has wrestled with this issue a lot more prominently than he has before. Channels like Donbass Insider and Bellum Acta, as reported by Foreign Policy, started pumping out pro-Russian propaganda as the invasion began. So much so that the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council issued a statement labeling which accounts are Russian-backed. Ukrainian officials, in potential violation of the Geneva Convention, have shared imagery of dead and captured Russian soldiers on the platform.
