Радужные облака (иризация) — редкое оптическое явление, при котором очень тонкие облака, находящиеся вблизи Солнца, окрашиваются в спектральные цвета.
Обычно эти цвета пастельные, бледные, но при определённых условиях могут быть и очень яркими.
Причина появления радужных облаков: солнечный свет, попадая на облачную каплю или кристаллик льда, отклоняется от распространения по прямой линии и происходит разложение белого света на составляющие (спектр).
