О причинах обыска Басковой неизвестно. «Может быть, кому-то просто не нравится современное искусство. Кажется, что оно говорит на другом языке, который может быть непонятен и кажется провокативным», — прокомментировала она ситуацию.
Институт был открыт Басковой и художником Анатолием Осмоловским в 2011 году.
