🏣 В годы Октябрьской революции подворье представляло из себя большую коммуналку. Нижние этажи занимали магазины и склады, а верхние были отданы под квартиры.
🏗️ В 1936 г, чтобы сохранить памятник архитектуры, было принято решение о переносе здания вглубь двора. Здание было снято с фундамента, установлено на 2100 катков и стояло, в буквальном смысле, на рельсах.
✍️ «Людей о сроках передвижения здания не информировали. Скорее всего, чтобы не было лишней паники. Работа была начата 4 марта 1939 г. в два часа ночи. При помощи 20-тонной лебедки дом был снят с фундамента и плавно поехал на новое место. Здание Саввинского подворья двигалось настолько плавно, что спавшие жильцы не ощутили движения, а проснувшись утром, с изумлением отметили, что их дом уже стоит на другом месте».

Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets.
