Эвакуировать платформы начали уже в середине недели, если считать с того момента, то нефтяники в сумме остановили работу девяти платформ и потеряли примерно 1,7 млн баррелей и 30 млн кубометров газа.

На Мексиканский залив в США приходится около 15% всей внутренней добычи нефти и 2% добычи природного газа.
