На аукционе Кристис в Лондоне выставят этого замечательного Святого Себастьяна великого Эль Греко предположительно 1600 года из частного собрания.

Пожалуй, это самый красивый из известных портретов Святого Себастьяна, созданных Эль греко.

Святой запечатлен на фоне пасмурного, облачного неба в момент откровения, его вопрошающий и покорный взгляд обращен вверх, слегка разомкнутые губы символизируют божественное причастие, а спокойствие лица показывает смиренное принятие ужасающих ран, нанесенных его земному телу
