В конце улицы стелется пустырь,
где ты однажды замедлил шаг,
прежде чем спуститься в пологое, русое безлюдье,
словно хотел свести счёты
с неясными голосами вдали,
за пустым, песчаным стадионом в предместье.
В просвете между пахсовых жилищ островерхие холмы
видны в глинистых блёстках
над колониальной крепостью XIX века,
на хребте солнечного тумана, как Ретабло.
Им зримый очерк лепит какой-то здешний пробел,
чествующий чинную четкость вещей
в конце шаганий. В общем,
остается свести счёты
с неясными голосами вдали,
за пустым, песчаным стадионом в предместье,
которое, как Ницше, стоит открыть, — потом его не забудешь,
которое само напомнит: тихому — тишь.
