Большинство этих регионов относятся к Северному Кавказу. Запрет будет действовать в Дагестане, Ингушетии, Кабардино-Балкарии, Карачаево-Черкесии, Северной Осетии, Чечне. Запрет также распространяется на территории Донецкой и Луганской народных республик, Запорожской и Херсонской областей.
Майнинг будет запрещен также на некоторых территориях Иркутской области, Бурятии и Забайкальского края — но временно, в пики энергопотребления.
Задачей ограничений является сохранение баланса энергопотребления с учетом запросов промышленности.
