Давление общества и его потребительских установок, безответственность мужчины, страх перед будущим, заблуждения относительно того, с какого момента плод становится ребёнком, – всё это толкает главных героинь фильма, мать и дочь, к принятию того самого решения, о котором одна из них будет сожалеть всю жизнь, а другая – радоваться и благодарить Бога за счастье стать матерью.
