When not turned on, though, chats are stored on Telegram's services, which are scattered throughout the world. But it has "disclosed 0 bytes of user data to third parties, including governments," Telegram states on its website. "This time we received the coordinates of enemy vehicles marked 'V' in Kyiv region," it added. "Your messages about the movement of the enemy through the official chatbot … bring new trophies every day," the government agency tweeted. "The argument from Telegram is, 'You should trust us because we tell you that we're trustworthy,'" Maréchal said. "It's really in the eye of the beholder whether that's something you want to buy into."
