В ходе поисковой операции семерых шахтеров нашли мертвыми. Тело последнего было обнаружено ближе к 4 часам утра 18 февраля.
В правительстве Казахстана проинформировали о создании специальной комиссии для расследования причин случившегося, ее возглавил заместитель премьер-министра Канат Бозумбаев.
