Переехав из Германии в Лондон, Карл Маркс ни дня в своей жизни не работал. Всё свое время он посвятил литературным трудам, которые первые 10 лет жизни после эмиграции практически не оплачивались – семья жила в нищете. Из 7 родившихся у Маркса детей 4 умерло в раннем возрасте.
Остались только три дочери, про которых и написана данная книга. К несчастью, две из них покончили жизнь самоубийством. Об этом и многом другом мы узнаем в сегодняшнем чтении изданной в 1962 году в СССР книги «Дочери Маркса».
