Эзотерическая Тхеравада (Боран/Пурана Камматтхана, Йогавачара, Вейзза) существует около полутора тысяч лет. Данное направление возникло в рамках Абхаягири Вихары, после раскола (политического характера) Абхаягири Вихара стала открытой к взаимоотношениям с любыми иностранными буддистами, включая Махаяну и Ваджраяну, таким образом данные учения постепенно стали адаптироваться и практиковаться в рамках Тхеравады. Буддийские паломники из разных регионов Махаяны, тантрические учителя и Махасиддхи посещали и проживали в этом центре Тхеравады. Со временем данное направление стало испытывать ещё большее давление со стороны Махавихары, в результате, когда Махавихара обрела политическую силу в Шри-Ланке, Абхаягири Вихара была расформирована. В период своего расцвета Абхаягири-Вихара создала филиалы в Индии (Кашмир), Индонезии (Ява), Китае и Камбодже. В результате в этих регионах и соседствующих с ними данное направление стало более ярко выраженным.

Then Māra’s daughters taṇhā, arati, ragā went up to Māra the Wicked, and addressed him in verse:
“Why so downhearted, dad?
What man are you upset about?
We’ll catch him with the snare of lust,
like an elephant in the wild.
We’ll tie him up and bring him back—
he’ll fall under your sway!”
Mara:
“In this world he is the Perfected one, the Holy One.
He’s not easily seduced by lust.
He has slipped free of Māra’s dominion; that’s why I’m so upset.”
- Māradhītusutta (SN 4.25)

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يُجۡزَوۡنَ ٱلۡغُرۡفَةَ بِمَا صَبَرُواْ وَيُلَقَّوۡنَ فِيهَا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلَٰمًا
"It is they who will be rewarded with (elevated) mansions (in Paradise) for their perseverance, and will be received with salutations and (greetings of) peace" (Surah Al Furqan, 25:75)
The announcement has been officially made. THE WAR IN GAZA HAS ENDED!
