The famous quote about killing the Buddha on the road was said by 9th century Chan master Linji Yixuan, who was a student of Huangbo Xiyun, Huangbo's master was the abbot Mazu Daoyi, founder of the Hongzhou School of Chan Buddhism in the 8th century, he correctly criticized sitting calm abiding to become a Buddha:

"Are you practicing to sit in meditation, or practicing to sit like a Buddha? As to sitting in meditation, meditation is neither sitting nor lying. As to sitting like a Buddha, the Buddha has no fixed form. In the non-abiding Dharma, one should neither grasp nor reject. If you try to sit like a Buddha, you are just killing the Buddha. If you attach to the form of sitting, you will never realize the principle."

So better than kill the Buddha on the road is to walk the correct road until you realize non-abiding.

On May 29-31 His Holiness Drikung Kyabgön Chetsang Rinpoche, the co-head of Drikung Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, will bestow a series of empowerments:

Drikung Friends will make the empowerments available on Zoom with translation to 6-7 languages including English, Vietnamese, Spanish, Russian, Italian, French and Portuguese.

These empowerments belong to the highest tantra and for receiving them it is needed to take, understand and aspire not to break three sets of Buddhist vows – refuge vows, 18 root and 46 secondary bodhisattva vows, 14 root tantric vows. No daily sadhana practice commitment will be taken after receiving those empowerments.
