Это здание стало домом для исторических экспонатов, архива и библиотеки, представляющих более 400-летнюю историю города. Но сейчас «Старожилам Сургута» грозит выселение. Взамен городские власти предлагают комнату в Доме журналистов, в которую невозможно вместить историческое наследие, собранное краеведами.
Народный фронт обратился в правительство Югры и администрацию Сургута с просьбой сохранить за старожилами прежнее здание.
