Вечером 24 декабря ВВС Пакистана вторглись в воздушное пространство талибов и нанесли удары по афганской пров. Пактия, в частности по н.п. Бармаль. Целями атак были лагеря подготовки террористов ТТП, однако удары пришлись по домам пакистанских беженцев из Вазиристана, в результате чего погибли несколько человек, вкл. детей.

Кабул отреагировал на инцидент: министр обороны страны Мулла Якуб заявил, что атака не останется безнаказанной, назвав удары варварскими.
