Despite Telegram's origins, its approach to users' security has privacy advocates worried. Continuing its crackdown against entities allegedly involved in a front-running scam using messaging app Telegram, Sebi on Thursday carried out search and seizure operations at the premises of eight entities in multiple locations across the country. Sebi said data, emails and other documents are being retrieved from the seized devices and detailed investigation is in progress. But because group chats and the channel features are not end-to-end encrypted, Galperin said user privacy is potentially under threat. Members of the public who suspect that they have been approached by unauthorised firms or individuals offering schemes that promise unrealistic returns
