جرت عادة المسلمين تجهيز وتزيين الزوجة لزوجها يوم زفافها وهذه العادة من الأمور المستحبة ، ولكن في زماننا حصل العكس؛ فأصبحت العروس تتزين للناس ولمن ينظر إليها في يوم زفافها، فتنفق الأموال على فستان الزفاف والمكياج حتى تظهر للناس في أجمل حلة، والناس على درجات في الوقوع بالمحظور:
فمنهن من تتزين لكل من يراها سواءً كان الناظر إليها رجل أجنبي أو امرأة قريبة، فهذا تبرج بل من الكبائر ولا يجب على المسلم-ة الحضور أو المشاركة بهذه المناسبة لأنه تبرح وسفور واختلاط ويأثم كل من شارك بهذه المناسبة .
ومنهن من تظهر بزينة أمام النساء بشكل عام والمحارم بشكل خاص؛ وإن كان هؤلاء ممن يجوز لهم النظر إليها وهي محتشمة؛ فليس لهم النظر إليها وهي متبرجة مكشوفة الظهر أو الشعر أو الثدي أو ما يصفه ويصف جسدها من فوق السرة
والقليل النادر من يكون زواجهم موافق لهدي السلف؛ حفل يجتمع عليه الأقارب على وليمة ويسمح بضرب الدف والغناء المباح للنساء دون معازف أو رقص أو تبرج والزوجة لباسها محتشم بين النساء ولا تبذير مفرط بالمصاريف ولا تصوير، فالزواج يسير ولكن نحن من صعبناه بالعادات الدخيلة علينا من الغرب الكافر كحفلة الخطوبة والفستان الشبه عاري واستئجار الصالة ثم بعد شهر العسل .. فهذا كله تبذير ومعصية .
