Марков стал известен благодаря своим фотографиям, сделанным на смартфон. В них отражались разные аспекты жизни в России — от развлечений провинциальных подростков до омоновца, сидящего под портретом президента (пожалуй, самое известное изображение Маркова).

Фотограф долгое время жил с героиновой зависимостью и умер от передозировки на 42-м году жизни.

Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores.
