🇹🇹🇺🇸🇻🇪Trinidad and Tobago denies agreement with the US to deploy troops against Venezuela
Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Keith Rowley has rejected statements suggesting an agreement with the United States to deploy troops on its territory against Venezuela as of January 1, 2025.
In this regard, Rowley stressed that this is a very serious matter. “If a country offers its territory for military troops against another, it is a very serious matter” and pointed out that this type of misinformation could harm bilateral relations with Venezuela.
The president clarified that the existing cooperation agreement with Washington is limited to training military personnel to respond to natural disasters and has no relation to Venezuela.

A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. For Oleksandra Tsekhanovska, head of the Hybrid Warfare Analytical Group at the Kyiv-based Ukraine Crisis Media Center, the effects are both near- and far-reaching. The last couple days have exemplified that uncertainty. On Thursday, news emerged that talks in Turkey between the Russia and Ukraine yielded no positive result. But on Friday, Reuters reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin said there had been some “positive shifts” in talks between the two sides.
