كانت الشيماء أخت رسول الله ﷺ من الرضاعة تحضنه و ترقصه و تقول:
هذا أخ لي لم تلده أمي و ليس من نسل أبي و عمي
فديته من مخول معمِّ فأنمه اللَّهمّ فيما تنمي
وقيل كانت تنشد:
يا ربنا أبق لنا محمدا حتى أراه يافعا و أمردا ثم أراه سيد مسوّدا واكبت أعاديه معا و الحسّدا و أعطه عزا يدوم أبدا
فكان أبو عروة الأزدي إذا أنشد هذا يقول: ما أحسن ما أجاب اللَّه دعاءها.
و ذكر من شعر حليمة ما كانت ترقّص به النبي (صلى الله عليه و سلم):
يا رب إذا أعطيته فأبقه و أعله إلى العلا و أرقه و أدحض أباطيل العدا بحقّه
الأبيات نقلها بعض العلماء وأهل السير عن الإمام محمد بن المعلى الأزدي وقد توفي في القرن الرابع الهجري وألف كتاب الترقيص يذكر فيه أشعار العرب ورجزهم لأطفالهم والكتاب للأسف مفقود.
