🔴 در فضای مجازی شیوع این بیماری را به خوردن غذاهایی که برای ما عجیب است نسبت داده‌اند (مثلاً سوپ خفاش!)؛ چنین تصورِ نادان‌ساخته‌ای سبب می‌شود احتیاط‌های لازم نسبت به موارد غیربهداشتی که برای ما عجیب نیستند جدی گرفته نشود. این کوروناویروس به احتمال زیاد ربطی به خفاش دارد اما از خفاش به انسان منتقل نشده و احتمال وجود چند ناقل واسط تحت بررسی است، از جمله مار و «مرغ» زنده.
