Недавно сообщалось, что Израиль обсудил с Россией соглашение о прекращении огня в Ливане, в надежде, что Россия примет меры для предотвращения контрабанды оружия из Сирии для ливанской группировки «Хизбалла».
Но спецпредставитель президента РФ по Сирии Александр Лаврентьев сказал, что Россия не будет этим заниматься: «Во-первых, скажу, мы прилагаем усилия для того, чтобы прекратить насилие в Ливане… Но требование, условие о том, чтобы эта договорённость включала в себя гарантии российской стороны: во-первых, мы не можем дать таких гарантий. Это раз.
Во-вторых, наш воинский контингент находится в Сирии исключительно для борьбы с терроризмом... У нас не стоит задачи… по перекрытию границы и организации контрольно-пропускных пунктов».
Он подчеркнул, что Россия может только попросить Сирию пресечь контрабанду, и все.
