Новая южнокорейская САУ имеет технологию пониженной отдачи («мягкая отдача», soft recoil) и построена на базе 105-мм гаубицы KH-178, которая в свою очередь является модернизированной версией стандартной американской гаубицы M101. Длина ствола новой гаубицы составляет 37 калибров. Дальность стрельбы ограничена 14,7 км при использовании стандартных боеприпасов и до 18 км при использовании 105-мм активно-реактивных снарядов.
