Шанхайская студия Х+Living спроектировала книжный магазин в Тяньцзине с фасадом, выполненным в виде «слоёв» из кирпича.

Магазин расположен в бывшей итальянской концессии, где соседствуют здания роскошной неоклассики, модерна, ар-деко и ориентализма. Архитекторам предстояло преобразить современное здание, дополнив его элементами, перекликающимися с историческим окружением.

Вдохновением для проекта стали обычные жалюзи, создающие игру света и тени. Основой для дизайна был выбран кирпич — традиционный материал как для итальянской, так и для китайской культур. Его использовали в распиленном виде, создавая самые разнообразные формы.

В интерьере ключевым акцентом стала инсталляция из тёмно-синего металла, оттенок которого отсылает к морю в порту Тяньцзиня. Её форма визуально «затягивает» посетителей вглубь пространства. Завершающим элементом центрального зала служит эффектная кирпичная спиральная лестница.

Значительные площади магазина отведены под зоны для чтения и проведения лекций и встреч с авторами, что делает его не просто местом для покупки книг, но и пространством для общения и вдохновения.

Telegram has gained a reputation as the “secure” communications app in the post-Soviet states, but whenever you make choices about your digital security, it’s important to start by asking yourself, “What exactly am I securing? And who am I securing it from?” These questions should inform your decisions about whether you are using the right tool or platform for your digital security needs. Telegram is certainly not the most secure messaging app on the market right now. Its security model requires users to place a great deal of trust in Telegram’s ability to protect user data. For some users, this may be good enough for now. For others, it may be wiser to move to a different platform for certain kinds of high-risk communications. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. DFR Lab sent the image through Microsoft Azure's Face Verification program and found that it was "highly unlikely" that the person in the second photo was the same as the first woman. The fact-checker Logically AI also found the claim to be false. The woman, Olena Kurilo, was also captured in a video after the airstrike and shown to have the injuries. 'Wild West' At this point, however, Durov had already been working on Telegram with his brother, and further planned a mobile-first social network with an explicit focus on anti-censorship. Later in April, he told TechCrunch that he had left Russia and had “no plans to go back,” saying that the nation was currently “incompatible with internet business at the moment.” He added later that he was looking for a country that matched his libertarian ideals to base his next startup.
