Победу Санду принесли голоса с зарубежных избирательных участков: без учета данных с 28 из 231 участков, покинувшие страну молдаване принесли ей более 250 тыс. голосов, а за Стояногло проголосовали 53,9 тыс. проживающих пределами страны.
Без учета данных зарубежных участков Стояногло набрал 51,19%, а Санду — 48,81%.
