Новый организм назвали Gibellula attenboroughii в честь знаменитого британского натуралиста и телеведущего, сэра Дэвида Аттенборо.
В обычном состоянии эти членистоногие ведут скрытный образ жизни. Однако паразит управляет поведением жертвы, вырабатывая дофамин, поэтому инфицированные особи покидают свои укрытия и перемещаются к открытым местам, где умирают. Такие манипуляции способствуют дальнейшему распространению спор грибка.
