В числе защитников города 1283 уроженца Адыгеи - 475 наших земляков погибли. В память о них на Мамаевом кургане в Волгограде установлена стела с надписями на русском и адыгском языках «Вечная слава сыновьям и дочерям Адыгеи - защитникам Сталинграда».
