Це були перші представники ЗМІ)), які ходили містом в базарні дні і голосно викрикували всілякі повідомлення для переважно неписемного люду (новини, рекламу, накази короля тощо). Той, хто ґавив, мав допитуватися в інших: "Який останній крик?"
