По версии следствия, девочку убил сосед семьи, работавший у отца погибшей и затаивший на него обиду. Когда родители школьницы уехали в Красноярск, мужчина, находясь в состоянии алкогольного опьянения, решил отомстить, забив скот. В хлеву он обнаружил дочь своего начальника, кормившую животных. Мужчина дважды ударил девочку по голове палкой, после чего скрылся. Тело ребенка обглодали свиньи, что первоначально ввело следствие в заблуждение.
Сосед признался в содеянном. Дело об убийстве находится в производстве прокуратуры Красноярского края.
