Это абсолютно обыденное понимание, но почему-то даже те, кто собираются защищать диссертации, зачастую не могут подучить ин-яз. А ведь они в своей работе должны ссылаться на иностранные источники на языке оригинала, которые они по идее должны были досконально перелопатить.
С этой стороны, довольно ущербно выглядят наши местные интеллектуалы прошлого, которые свысока смотрели на тех же местных мулл, в то время как эти самые муллы владели великом и могучим арабским языком (а интеллектуалы владели высоким мнением о себе).
