18 июня неизвестный выстрелил в Садыкова, когда он находился в автомобиле рядом со своим домом в Киеве. Рядом с автором оппозиционного проекта «Басе» находилась его супруга — соавтор проекта Наталья Садыкова. Она не пострадала.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Telegram has remained an important lifeline for both Russians and Ukrainians, as a way of staying aware of the latest news and keeping in touch with loved ones. Soloviev also promoted the channel in a post he shared on his own Telegram, which has 580,000 followers. The post recommended his viewers subscribe to "War on Fakes" in a time of fake news. In 2018, Russia banned Telegram although it reversed the prohibition two years later.
