Исследование основывалось на анализе 66 показателей, каждый из которых отражал реальные условия жизни и социальную ситуацию в разных сферах. Кубань набрала более 76 баллов. Для сравнения, Москва — абсолютный лидер рейтинга — получила 84 балла.
