Моряки не стали посылать сигнал бедствия, а лишь запросили разрешения зайти в Азов для того, чтобы починить судно. Это будет возможно после того, как на азовском побережье поднимется уровень воды: из-за большой осадки сухогруз может сесть на мель.
Пока же на помощь судну вышли ледоколы «Капитан Демидов» и «Капитан Чудинов».
