Поводом для обращения стали многочисленные случаи препятствования таможенников провозу необходимого снаряжения и гуманитарной помощи в зону боевых действий.
Ранее Readovka уже сообщала о проблемах на Ростовской границе — таможенники по требованию руководства изымают оборудование, лекарства, книги и даже иконы, а бойцы на фронте продолжают ждать помощи, иногда неделями, оставаясь без жизненно необходимых вещей. Кроме того, проблемы также наблюдались на границе с Херсонской областью в Крыму.
