Поступает информация, что была сдана без боя цитадель Алеппо. Власти закрыли местный аэропорт и ведущие к городу дороги из-за наступления повстанцев. Сообщается, что боевики выпускают заключённых из тюрем.

Собеседники среди повстанцев, контактирующие с турецкой разведкой, заявили, что Анкара, поддерживающая противников президента Сирии Башара Асада, дала зелёный свет на наступление.

Однако представитель Минобороны Турции накануне заявил, что республика стремится избежать нестабильности в регионе, а боевые действия подрывают соглашение о деэскалации.
