📣 Raising funds to pay for a lawyer for Boris Goncharenko, a person in Krasnodar accused of burning down the military registration and enlistment office

On the night of October 6 in Goryachi Klyuch city of Krasnodar region unknown persons set fire to military registration and enlistment office. The next day the law enforcers detained two suspects.

The detainees turned out to be 27-year-old citizen of Minsk (Belarus) Bogdan Abdurakhmanov and 34-year-old resident of Krasnodar Boris Goncharenko.

Initially Abdurakhmanov and Goncharenko were charged with "attempted destruction of property" — under these charges they could face up to 3 years and 9 months in prison. However, the case was brought to the attention of the Federal Security Service (FSB), and the article was changed to "committing an act of terrorism". Now, both Bogdan and Boris face from 12 to 20 years in prison.

Boris Goncharenko graduated from Kuban state university. After that, he taught history, social studies, and philosophy at various educational institutions. At one time he worked as a manager at the information centers "Garant" and "ConsultantPlus".

Boris does not support Russian aggression in Ukraine and after the start of a full-scale war was very worried about the fate of conscripts, his former and current students.

Boris Goncharenko did not plead guilty to "committing an act of terrorism".

Solidarity Zone found a lawyer to defend Boris Goncharenko and paid the amount necessary to begin the work. Another 250 thousand rubles (3000 euros) are needed to fully pay the lawyer at the stage of the investigation.

We urge you to support the fundraising with donations and sharing!

Telegram does offer end-to-end encrypted communications through Secret Chats, but this is not the default setting. Standard conversations use the MTProto method, enabling server-client encryption but with them stored on the server for ease-of-access. This makes using Telegram across multiple devices simple, but also means that the regular Telegram chats you’re having with folks are not as secure as you may believe. A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. As the war in Ukraine rages, the messaging app Telegram has emerged as the go-to place for unfiltered live war updates for both Ukrainian refugees and increasingly isolated Russians alike. The account, "War on Fakes," was created on February 24, the same day Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" and troops began invading Ukraine. The page is rife with disinformation, according to The Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab, which studies digital extremism and published a report examining the channel. Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko that there were "certain positive developments" occurring in the talks with Ukraine, according to a transcript of their meeting. Putin added that discussions were happening "almost on a daily basis."
