Как сказал Айсен Николаев, в прошлом году более эффективным методом при тушении лесных пожаров явилось искусственное вызывание осадков и сообщил, что в Якутии ведется переоборудование самолета Ан-26 с устройством по искусственному вызыванию осадков.
Оборудование - полностью российского производства, разрабатывается по заявке республики и устанавливается за счет средств местного бюджета на базе региональной авиакомпании.
Глава республики также отметил, что в Лесном кодексе данный метод применяется только для тушения лесных пожаров. В этой связи глава республики предложил применить его с целью снижения класса пожарной опасности леса, внеся изменения в федеральное законодательство, и определить Якутию как пилотный регион.
