По словам родственников убийцы, его мать заметила окровавленную одежду и спросила, что случилось. Рустам сначала соврал, затем осознал, что потерял телефон, и вернулся искать его на место преступления, где был задержан. Выяснилось, что незадолго до нападения он употреблял наркотики и алкоголь. Его отец, сотрудник УФСИН, подал рапорт об увольнении.
Рустам Н. арестован и обвинён в убийстве. Ему грозит до 20 лет лишения свободы.
