В прошлом году Иван, которому было чуть за 20, из-за крайне сложной ситуации со здоровьем вынужденно завершил игровую карьеру.
Федерация хоккея России и лично первый вице-президент ФХР Роман Ротенберг помогли ему с реабилитацией, а после — пригласили поработать со сборной U16, уже в качестве тренера. Это та самая команда, которая совсем недавно в Минске выиграла Кубок Президентского спортивного клуба.
