Вооруженные столкновения на сирийско-ливанской границе происходят в связи с желанием новой сирийской администрации установить контроль над переходами, долгое время служившими артерией снабжения ливанской «Хизбаллы».

Деревня Хавик, расположенная на границе Ливана и Сирии, где проживают преимущественно ливанцы-шииты, подверглась интенсивному обстрелу со стороны сирийских подразделений из соседней деревни Хит. Сообщается о том, что столкновения с применением тяжелого вооружения произошли между формированиями ХТШ и ливанскими кланами Зейтер-Джаафар. Большинство населения деревни изгнаны из деревни.
