Prince Arthur in Canada
Prince Arthur, son of Queen Victoria, first came to Canada in 1869. Between serving with the Montreal Rifle Brigade and defending Canada against the Fenian Raid of 1870, he embraced the Canadian climate and its winter sports. The Prince Arthur Toboggan Club was one of his patronages. During the early talks of Confederation there were some ideas of making Canada an “auxiliary” Kingdom of the Empire. One option was put forward by the former Irish Revolutionary, Thomas D’Arcy McGee, to have one of Queen Victoria’s younger sons set up as a King who would reign from Canada, Prince Arthur being the most favoured. This never came to be, however, but Prince Arthur would return to Canada as the Duke of Connaught in 1911 to take up the position of Governor General, the only British Prince ever to do so. Prince Arthur died in 1942 at the age of 91.

"He has to start being more proactive and to find a real solution to this situation, not stay in standby without interfering. It's a very irresponsible position from the owner of Telegram," she said. As a result, the pandemic saw many newcomers to Telegram, including prominent anti-vaccine activists who used the app's hands-off approach to share false information on shots, a study from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue shows. "And that set off kind of a battle royale for control of the platform that Durov eventually lost," said Nathalie Maréchal of the Washington advocacy group Ranking Digital Rights. Multiple pro-Kremlin media figures circulated the post's false claims, including prominent Russian journalist Vladimir Soloviev and the state-controlled Russian outlet RT, according to the DFR Lab's report. This provided opportunity to their linked entities to offload their shares at higher prices and make significant profits at the cost of unsuspecting retail investors.
