Für die Taler, Zwiebel und Knoblauch fein hacken. Karotten schälen und fein reiben. Alles zusammen in etwas pflanzlichem Öl im Topf anschwitzen.Die Hirse heiß abspülen und zum Gemüse zugeben und kurz mitrösten lassen. Mit Wasser ablöschen und bei niedriger Hitze 15-20 min köcheln lassen. Gelegentlich umrühren, dann die Masse abkühlen lassen. Mozzarella abtropfen, klein würfeln. Eier, Mozzarella, Kräuter und Gewürze in die Masse geben und alles gut verrühren. Mit einem Dessertring (ca. 7cm) je 1½ EL Masse, Taler auf ein mit Backpapier belegtes Blech geben. Im vorgeheizten Ofen bei 200⁰ Heißluft ca. 20 min backen.
