В целях наращивания группировки сил Тихоокеанского флота, в соответствии с планом СКШУ «Океан-2024», атомный ракетный подводный крейсер стратегического назначения «Император Александр III» и атомный подводный крейсер «Красноярск» осуществили подлёдный переход приполюсными маршрутами из операционной зоны Северного флота в район восточного сектора Арктики.
Маршрут перехода проходил через акватории шести арктических морей в сложных ледовых условиях. Общая протяжённость маршрута перехода составила более 4000 морских миль.
Сегодня подводные крейсеры в надводном положении и в боевом охранении корвета «Гремящий», при сопровождении спасательного буксира «СБ-408», продолжили движение в назначенный район.
