У якості будматеріалу ці синички використовують лишайники певних типів, а саме пармелію і фісцію. Павутину добувають із коконів павуків виключно сімейства Лініфіїди.
Тільки для пошуку пір'я, яке складає 41% від маси гнізда, синицям доводиться пролітати по 22 км. При цьому, ці синички менші за горобця і важать 7-9 грамів.
