Ночью в Восточном Иерусалиме полиция Израиля задержала более четырехсот палестинцев в комплексе мечети Аль-Акса. Силовики ворвались в здание и избили верующих дубинками и винтовками, применив при этом слезоточивый газ и светошумовые гранаты. Более сотни человек получили ранения. Утром под охраной полиции израильтяне зашли на территорию комплекса, чтобы помолиться.

Руководство израильской полиции заявило, что правоохранители были вынуждены войти на территорию Аль-Аксы после того, агрессивно настроенные верующие заперлись внутри мечети, имея при себе палки и камни.

В ответ на агрессивные действия полиции палестинские группировки выпустили десять реактивных снарядов в направлении Израиля. Боеприпасы были перехвачены израильской системой ПРО "Железный купол". Также боевики обстреляли блокпост ЦАХАЛ и тяжело ранили военнослужащего в Бейт-Уммаре.

Ответными действиями Израиля стали обстрелы и авиаудары по складам вооружения и объектам ХАМАС в секторе Газа.
