Человек, который 33 года назад сказал то, что осознается только сейчас. Человек, державший связь меж разломанными эпохами.

Помню, спросил у него:

- Александр Андреевич! Вас, за Вашу правду, за Ваше стоическое упрямство, за Вашу верность советской империи и русскому пути - 33 года гнобили, терзали, топили. А теперь политический истеблишмент, не ссылаясь на Вас, говорит вашими словами тридцатилетней давности. Вам не обидно, что они даже не признали вслух Вашу правоту? Что они Ваши речи подворовывают, а источник не называют?

Со свойственной ему великолепной иронией, Проханов бесстрастно ответил:

- Иконы не подписывают.
